I was in Aberdeen yesterday for a 'My First Aga Christmas' session. I learned a lot! Mostly about things I'd been doing wrong. I came home with lots of new ideas for the Christmas meal. As I was filling in time waiting for the session to start, I checked out some of the wooden sculptures in Aberdeen; 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. I didn't find them all, so have a good excuse to go back. The swans were sitting outside the entrance to His Majesty's Theatre.
That's lovely......I'll have to go and explore them in the holidays! Yesterday we were shopping there and quite successful! We're going to hear a local choir singing this afternoon and their title is 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' too!
@Weezilou@kwind SOrry ladies ... Aga is the brand name of a cast iron cooker, which I guess must be very British! It has a very particular way of working, and there are all sorts of tips and tricks. 80% of cooking should be done in the ovens, for example. I don't use mine to its full capacity, so the idea was to go to a workshop and learn a bit more about it, and the methods of cooking. It is a wonderful cooker, but requires getting used to.

Sorry @kwind - didn't mean to include you on the Aga explanation!
I went to an Aga demo when I first got my Aga many years ago but I can still remember it. We always go & watch the demos at Agricuture shows too & sample the food. I know I don’t use my Aga to its best either as I still use the electric grill to do my B&B bacon but mine is an old lady & it’s not as hot as it might be. 8 could never live in a house without a range of some sort though. The twelve days of Christmas is featuring everywhere this Christmas, we had a Quiz at last nights dinner & one of the questions was what was the gift on the eighth day of Christmas....I knew if course!
