We found an old granite grinding stone in our back garden. We wanted to put it in the front garden as a feature - the idea being to put the house number on it, ultimately. Hubby unearthed it a few weeks ago, but knew that he couldn't move it alone, so would wait for his strong athletic kids to be home to help! Today was the day. They managed to get it loaded up onto an old wheelbarrow and move it all the way from front to back. Here we have son pushing the barrow (spot the very flat wheel of the barrow, giving some indication of the weight of the stone) and hubby and daughter balancing the stone and trying to make sure it didn't fall off the barrow before reaching its final resting point. It is now in place and awaiting the house number to be bestowed upon it!
Can relate to this. We had a mosaic table top which sat on a 4 legged metal frame; both had outlived their lives...and then some. Eventually we bought another ceramic table to replace it. Before we 'despatched' the old one, we carefully rolled it to a secluded part of the garden. At this resting place, all the ceramic pieces fell off it, scattering hither, thither and yon. What a mess!
@lesip He he ... we are sad enough to have three boiler suits in our shed for garden work. They kind of fit everyone! But as we only have 3, I had to be event photographer!
