No time for photos today, so you're getting another shot from Friday's walk at Glen Tanar. I'm off to the Shetland Isles this afternoon with hubby, little brother and SIL for Up Helly Aa. That should be interesting. Mum was a Shetlander, and the last time I was there was with her, circa 1984. I've never been to Up Helly Aa though, so really looking forward to the experience ... I'll be off the 365 radar for a few days.
This is lovely - my parents met these walking with some French friends - who described one of them as "an 'ippy" with the fringe and long hair.
I'm so jealous that you're going to Up Helly Aa, that's been on my bucket list for the last few years, but not possible as I couldn't take time off in term time.
I have always wanted to go to Up Helly Aa! One day I will.........have the most fantastic time! And this ginger chap is a real cutie despite those scary looking horns
He looks like a shaggy rug or just in need of a good hair dresser.
Have a great trip, enjoy the festivities. I had to look it up as I had never heard of it before.
Such a handsome beastie!
Enjoy your trip. I'm sure you'll have some dramatic photos.
The festival was available for live watching a couple of years ago.

Wishing you a wonderful time on your trip. Lucky us, getting to see the event through the coming pictures.
