As it was a beautiful morning, I thought I'd go and discover an area I have never been to, but one that is very close to home. I drove to Tarland and followed a 5km circuit to see this very interesting stone circle. It has a recumbent stone, and Lochnagar (you can see its snow clad form just above the recumbent stone) is the focus of the monument. It may have been used to mark the movement of the moon throughout the year.
And very close to this Stone Circle, was an ROC nuclear bunker, built during the cold war.
You get in impressive amount of exercise on your photo hunts. Wouldn't it be interesting to see a moment in time here, like the opening scenes in the movie Titanic where the characters on the ship fade into view and we watch history come alive.
