Today was our first day of cross-country skiing ... ever. We started out with a lesson, and then skied about 10 km in the afternoon. I love it. There's something very cool about not standing in line waiting for a mechanical lift to take you to the top of a hill so you can scoot down in about 2 minutes. I suspect we'll both be stiff tomorrow as it uses very different muscles from downhill skiing. Great day, magnificent weather. And now, a warm shower.
What a beautiful view . Hope you're not to sore and what a great way to get out and exercise in the snow. Skiing is not my thing but cross-country just might be.
I've never done cross country but I think it would be amazing, time to enjoy your surroundings and, hopefully, resist the temptation to break a limb!! Lovely scene here.
When I lived in Wisconsin (where there were hills and snow, unlike where I live now in Illinois) I crossed country skied. Wonderful sport. You really get to see nature because youâre not rushing by it so fast as you are when down hill skiing. Beautiful place you were at!
