I took this yesterday when we were out cycling. I am utterly gobsmacked by the number of tins of ir'n bru, red bull, lager, plastic water bottles and plastic snack boxes which litter our country roads. The only way they could have got there is by people opening car windows and launching them out there. Quite why you would do that is just beyond my comprehension and makes me see red. I stopped to photograph this one, and yes, I did then bring it home with me - even though it meant putting it in my cycling jersey pocket. Yuck! However, I couldn't stop and photograph it without taking it away. One less item littering our lovely country roads. Rant over. :-(
It infuriates me, what mindless morons chick litter like that ? They stop at the end of our little lane & empty their car out, it’s an affront to our lovely place! Mind you the litter in Rome was bad!
People constantly throw rubbish into my land from the road - I live just far enough away from town to finish a big mac with a can of jack daniels and coke ... sigh
@caterina I'm absolutely certain that you are right, but I just couldn't help but post this image. I have never noticed it from the car as the items lie just a bit off the road, in the roadside grass, but on a bike you really notice. My mum was so strict on us about sweet papers when we were young, that I just cannot fathom how anyone can do it, or would even think of doing it. Maybe if we followed Scandinavia's lead and gave money back on returned cans and plastic bottles that would help?
It infuriates me too. I've also seen piles of cigarette butts in car parks where people have emptied their car ash trays, not to mention discarded dirty nappies. Grrrrrrr!!!!!!
