Ant on the Mahonia

I was out snapping the new flowers in the garden and got lucky with this little fellow strutting his stuff on the mahonia.

What a great "snapped shot" very clear. I like the contrast between the black of ant and the yellow of the flowers.

Lovely... and your mahonias are in flower in the far north? We've had temperatures in the high twenties but no blossom on our mahonias yet!

@vignouse This one is a tiny shrub and in full bloom ... unless I'm mistaken as to its identity? Looks like a mahonia to me. We have also had temps in the 20's recently though ... believe it or not! All change today though.
