Smug by jamibann

Smug

Another piece from Aberdeen's Nuart 2019 Street Art Festival - down at The Green. This is by Smug, aka Sam Bates, an Australian street artist who now lives and works in Glasgow. Usually I hate the white van or lorry syndrome, but somehow here it just seemed to fit right in with the environment.
wow I'm in such awe as to how they paint these huge images - great capture :)

That is fabulous. I really like it. Smug is the word!

fascinating street art - we had something like that on one of the buildings in London's East End, and it was being slated as too soppy compared with the graffiti with an edge

WOW! That's a beauty. I'm curious about how the artist accesses the space. Takes away the grey.
Must swing by this way next time I take the bus to the city!

Such talent deserves a big canvas... thanks for sharing this.

Just incredible, the talent displayed here. How someone paints on a surface that large is beyond me.

Splendid marriage in this composition, particularly like the complementary shades and colours. This shot rocks!

@sarah19 Get your self a Nuart 2019 map and check them all out Sarah. There are some beauties. A lot of them centred around Jopp's Lane and the Green area.

I e never ever been to Aberdeen even though my brother ran a restaurant there years ago, it looks as if it prides itself on its street art!

@happypat Yes, it's a new festival - I think this is the third year. It's a collaboration with Norway, I believe. If you google 'Nuart Aberdeen' you will be able to 'read all about it'! It's breathed a bit of life into the city which struggles a bit, culturally, in my opinion.
