She's back at the feeder and learning that she can actually eat her nuts there. To date, I've only ever seen her steal a nut and run away and bury it in the garden. She's such a wee beauty. I hope she hangs around. I used a different lens here - a 400mm one, which I'm renting for a week. I feel I could get to like it, which might be expensive!
That's a lovely shot!
Fantastic to have such a regular visitor.....but no surprise when he has such a food supply provided.
I was watching a programme on BBC ALBA last night ( Highland was the English translation of the title ) which featured red squirrels, amongst other lovely creatures, across the year. I think you might enjoy it if you find it on iplayer.
What joy to have Red Squirrels on your watch. There used to be some here...yet sadly not seen for some years. Changes in agriculture have much to answer for. Sigh:-(
Oh youâre so luck6 to have a proper red squirrel visiting. We have loads of greys & one half & half but this one is stunning! Great lens too....treat yourself!
Oh, what a fantastic capture of adorable little Tufty! Love those critters! Hope you enjoy your time with the 400mm. I have a 300mm which I thoroughly enjoy but I would LOVE to graduate to a 400mm or larger. :-)
@gaylewood I'm loving this lens and will be sad to give it up. I'll put it on my Christmas list though! I'm hoping to photograph an eagle's nest on Wednesday next week - the reason for hiring the lens. I'm feeling very nervous about being in a hide, alone, for 7 hours and just hoping I will get a worthwhile photo for my effort (and expense!).
@s4sayer We're fortunate not to have any grey squirrels here (yet ...). There are loads of reds up in Braemar at my dad's, but less here, so I'm so chuffed to have them in our Ballater garden. :-)
