We had a full day yesterday. A morning's cycling (including rear tyre blow-out for hubby ... not a nice experience for him), 18 holes of golf in the afternoon, and a raspberry forage in the evening. It was such a lovely day. I took my wee point-and-shoot out with me and snapped a few diary shots. This one was not intended to focus on the foreground plants, but somehow I liked the 'out of focus' hubby - intent on gathering his rasps! Jam making for me today, and making a start on painting the outside of our 'shieling'.
@julzmaioro Yes, wild rasps found on the golf course. They are very small, so when making jam I cook half first and sieve out a lot of the seeds, then add the remainder of rasps and cook another 5 minutes. Makes for a less seedy jam! We did the same thing last year.
@jamibann Oh, and a shieling is a small remote cottage in the hillside, or in our case a small wooden house in our garden. Back in the day, folks would rent out the main house and move into the shieling for the summer. We do not do that! Our shieling is a multi purpose room (originally the lounge/kitchen) where we do crafts and/or DIY but we can also set it up for dining when the we do a barbecue and the weather doesn't play ball. The other half (I guess formerly the bedroom) we just use for storage.
Wild raspberries, how lovely to find them in the hedgerows! I thought jus5 about the only things you could get free was blackberries, damsons etc now raspberries too...bet they taste wonderful! Your focus is excellent!
