I drove over to Edinburgh airport yesterday to pick up our daughter who had flown in from Oslo. The road from St. Andrews is a narrow one for part of the way, and affords some wonderful views as it's fairly hilly. The weather was amazing. As I came over the top of the hill, I saw this view over the Firth of Forth - a couple of rigs sitting out at sea, enshrouded in a light sea har, with the land just visible behind and the ploughed fields in the foreground. Needless to say I couldn't stop where I wanted to as there was nowhere to pull in. I found a spot at the entrance of a farm, and climbed up onto the farm dyke to get the best vantage point. The image doesn't do the scene justice. It was quite wonderful and will stay in my mind's eye for some time.
Alexander and Bella arrived last night from London, and so we are all together for the weekend. The wedding is later today. Very much looking forward to a walk on the beach this morning and the celebrations this afternoon.
What a great view. You were so much closer than I realized. My eyes were drawn to the darker part of the photo and swept up once I read your comment.
Hope that you have a great visit with your family.
