You have to love a Highland Cow. They have the most beautiful of faces. I went out for a walk this afternoon whilst son and girlfriend prepared an oriental dinner for us. We haven't eaten yet, but it all seems to be under control. They leave for London tomorrow. It's going to be awfully quiet around here. :-(
Our daughter has made it to Veggli now and has checked into a bed and breakfast for the night, after a very wet night in her tent last night! She was sheltering from the storm today in a farmer's barn at lunchtime, eating her sandwich, when the farmer came out. She was quick to apologise for using his barn, but he was delightful, and after asking her what she was doing there, he insisted on driving her to her next destination! She said she caved in after a bit of bravado, but it was a wicked day of rain, and a very hilly stretch of terrain. Now she feels guilty about taking a lift, but I reckon that was the right thing to do. I think it would have been a very difficult day otherwise. Tonight, she's just trying to get everything dried out for the next stretch of her journey. She's learning a lot about herself and her kit, and it's only day 2!
Well I do t blame her....you can’t ride when you are cold & wet through! Tell her to pretend it’s only day one!
You will miss the young ones...I bet they are excited to move on so as long as they are happy that’s the thing! It’s hard when they come back & hard when they go....it’s all a matter of routine. Our grandson arrives home from a Japan on the 23rd after three years in Japan, it will take some adjusting on both sides!
She made a good choice by the sound of it.. Sounds like quite an adventure.. we had two UK girls turn up one evening years ago to camp in our field.. They were delightful.. and often wonder how they hot on rith the rest of their trip.. They did have a car but I think a bike eoukd if been more reliable.
Love this face.. great when you can wipe your nose with your tongue.. lol
Great portrait! It really brings a smile to your face with that tongue reaching out. Great choice for a photo and it sounds like your daughter made a great choice too.
A fantastic portrait of this Highland cow. He appears quite gentle but looks might be deceiving! Good luck to your daughter for the rest of her adventure!
What a great shot, I love highland cattle they always look as though they are having a bad hair day. Lovely shot mid lick.
I think your daughter made a wise move to accept a lift.
Wonderful. Fav! Well timed shot :)
We were supposed to go to Scotland last May... did not happen...
I'm happy to follow you here to experience some Scottish feel ;)
