There's something about oak leaves with water droplets that moves me. It's peaceful, gorgeous, calming ...pretty.

Confession time: you asked how I come up with ideas for still-lives... for some, I browse images on instagram and 500px quite often, learning from other's arrangements, lighting, editing, etc. The cookie pic was quite similar to one I saw ages ago. Sometimes I have similar props, sometimes I don't (but then use that as an excuse to go browse through antique stores, which my husband calls 'junk stores'. Sometimes I find an item while shopping that I decide a picture will be built around. Silly me, willing to spend a bunch of time arranging things that will only be that way for a few minutes before they're dismantled and put away. But the picture's a keepsake of the fun I had in attempting to be creative. :)
@lyndemc Your 'attempts' at being creative work perfectly. And your pictures are well worth all the time spent creating them. Thanks for sharing some of your inspiration techniques, Denise, and keep the photos coming. :-)
