I took this shot of Fezzie in our garden last week, but he's had to wait for his moment of glory on 365, as I've had other more interesting photos to post of late and yesterday he was definitely eclipsed by my Mountain Hare! Ha ha ... patience is a virtue, Fezzie!
Lovely photo.....so close to get all the wonderful details and colours are fantastic. We have had a few visits from one of his distant cousins recently but I didn't manage any great photos!
Thatâs an amazing capture... arenât they a beautiful bird & can be quite tame. Ours got chased away by Connie this morning but sure she will be back!
@darylo He he ... not a bit of it! John is always nagging me to cook pheasant. I'm not a fan, so I put it off! Usually I tell him that there's none at the butcher's shop! However, sometimes he checks himself, so I get rumbled! I am currently waiting for the butcher to text me when he has a couple in the shop. So, I'm sure I'll be cooking a couple some time soon, whilst they're in season. I always do them in a casserole with wine and veggies. 'Always', ... that is, when I do cook them, which is about once a year!
@jamibann oh that's funny. Haha that John. I am tired of the obligatory turkey meal here at Thanksgiving and every year, I say "I'd prefer to cook pheasant or duck." I have cooked neither. I don't even think pheasant is available around here.
I had the most amazing duck dish in Paris while visiting a friend of our family at her home in 1985. Her mother somehow took slices of duck to surround a whole peach and then candied (hard surface) so it was a ball of duck but when you cracked through the hard glaze, there was succulent duck and a perfect peach.
Send me a pic of your pheasant dish when you do make it!
