Coffee on the Coyles

We're beginning to like our early starts in winter. There's definitely something to be said for getting up before dawn, heading out the door in the dark and arriving on the top of a mountain just after sunrise. Ok, it would have been better to actually be there for sunrise, but there was a fair bit of snow and ice to tackle which slowed us down.

My daughter gave me this mug as part of my Christmas present, so I felt it was appropriate to make it the subject of this image, with Lochnagar in the background. Morning coffee never tasted as good as it did this morning, and the view was to die for!

I love a tin mug....they are always the ones with the good sayings on or some quirky thing. Yours is very apt somehow for your snowy mountains partly perhaps as it reminds me of the Swiss knife emblem which you can picture in that very setting!

(Sweet of you to check in on me. I got January started then all of sudden had no time for pictures. My photo room was taken over by stuff moved out of a room we decided to majorly overhaul. Every free moment has been devoted to tearing down/building back, patching/painting, etc. The project is nearly done, thankfully. While at one point I thought I might just stay gone from 365, I already know I miss it too much and will be back. Likely on Feb 1st. Again, thanks for checking on me.)

That was a well-earned cup of coffee. Other than getting up before the sun, I like the idea of a hot beverage on the top of a mountain at sunrise- only mine would be hot chocolate! good shot.
