This weekend is the 'Exclusively Highlands' Summer Fayre at Braemar Castle. I went yesterday morning with my brother and his wife. What a lovely event with a great backdrop. I bought some gifts for friends' upcoming birthdays, some fresh fish and some cheese - and all from the Highlands of Scotland ... and followed by a lunch of fresh seafood and coffee and cake! What more could you ask for?
That’s the perfect place for a proper Scottish market. Wonderful backdrop…..I have never been there. Cathy & Garth & kids are up on Friday for a wedding blessing for Jo & Barry’s youngest daughter on Sunday. It’s at Mar Lodge. They are staying there for three nights then at the garage for rest of the week so if you see them on your travels do say hello Issi.
Well it looks like you could maybe have asked for a couple of degrees warmer (gone properly cold down here too) but other than that it sounds like paradise! Does Braemar castle have a connection to the Queen Mother or is that another?
@judithg Yes, it was a little chilly on Saturday! It's warmed up a bit, again though. Braemar Castle has no link with the Queen Mother, I think you're thinking of the Castle of Mey in Caithness? Somewhere I've never been. Yet!
Am pussyfooting, having been below the radar for some time. Nought afoot, more we need/ed a break…and have done nought since. We're alive and well. R's agenda depends on funerals…with of course…zero notice. There have been many such in recent times. We will be back…in due course.
@s4sayer So glad all is well Margo. Knowing when to take a break is a good thing. Hopefully you'll be back soon. In the meantime, it's nice to see your wee face pop up every now and then. :-)
