I could get quite disheartened if it weren't for things like this. Hubby, daughter and I went for a walk up Lochnagar yesterday, starting out at 6.15 am, to catch the sunrise. We had a most wonderful day. However, once back at the car we found that John's sister had been calling to tell us that John's dad had passed away at 5 this morning ... just as we were getting up to prepare for the hill walk. Such a bittersweet day. He was 94, and had a good life, so we have much to be grateful for, but it's still such a sad day for us all. RIP Sandy.
Aww...bitter-sweet indeed. I can understand the mixed feelings of gratitude and sadness.... they linger on, even though a good long life has been lived. Tricky time of year too but good you have your own young ones around you. Every day is precious. 🥰
So pleased for you that you saw this beautiful sunrise before you heard such sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family especially your husband! Big hug xx
My heart goes out to you, your husband andfamily. No matter what age it is always heart breaking to lose a loved one. This beautiful sunrise will now have a very special memory for you to cherish. Virtual hugs across the ocean Issi. xx fav
This is a glorious shot.
So tough to keep going when there is so much heartache and bad news. I hope your family is pulling together and caring for each other.
