We walked up our local go-to hill yesterday, Pannanich, and met with our friendly mountain hare again. Despite the lack of snow at this lower level, the hare was in his winter pelage and standing out a mile. It must be tough being a mountain hare in Scotland when winter comes and goes on a regular basis throughout the 'winter' months, and you don't know what colour to be!
