I took this yesterday on the flat part of our walk. I was intrigued by a field of cows, invaded by a flock of geese. This cow looked particularly perturbed! The geese not so.
The hill in the background is Craig Coillich. I have photos taken at the top of this hill in the 70s when you had a clear view from the top. Today you can see nothing from the top because of the high trees which have obviously been planted. You can see that the Forestry Commission have started cutting down the trees, and the bottom of the hill is just a mess. I suppose it has to be done, but the hill will take years to recover its former beauty.
Oh dear it does look very denuded but will be worse before it gets better….the cow looks surrounded. Those Canada geese come down in large flocks & eat all the grass so they are pinching his food too!
