We walked the 5 Munro Circle near Loch Muick yesterday with friends Ian, Andrea and Janet; starting with Lochnagar and finishing with Broad Cairn. It was a beautiful day for it. We've done them all before, so unfortunately no additional ticks on our list of Munros!
Walking poles…..interesting to see you using these to climb….I have some but only seen them used in Nordic walking. I have a friend who strides out everywhere with them but not up mountains!
You look a very happy & healthy bunch!
@happypat We use them most of the time these days, although they go away in the rucksack when scrambling on rocks. They make you work the whole body, rather that 'legs only' and they also protect knees on the downhills. I also like that they stop me getting fat fingers when walking as they keep the hands higher. Old school mountaineers/walkers may well poo-hoo them though, as my dad definitely would!
@christinav Yes indeed. We've done 88 over the past 3 years, so we're almost at a third now. We hope to hit the hundred mark before winter arrives. Our goal is 30/year and finished before I'm 70.
@jamibann Yes what do you do with your hands when walking sometimes!! A good solution! Cathy & Garth are in Braemar for a week from next Thursday….minding the dog for a week….look out for them!!
You look a very happy & healthy bunch!
