I'm not sure about the Highland Dancing display at the Game Show (being a former Highland Dancer) as it was traditional steps set to modern music. I think it's better to stick with the traditional combo. However, the talent was there, and I know how hard it is to dance on grass, so they did really, really well.
I rather liked this shot from behind of the little ones. :-)
Gorgeous, they're enjoying themselves I'm sure.
I'm amazed at wedding receptions how limited the Scottish Country dancing skills of young people are sometimes!! And Highland Dancing is an exact science!!!😂😂
I found Sarah's comments interesting; I only know about Highland dancing from what we've seen here in Nova Scotia! I'm in awe of the capabilities of those children!
Those kilts are flying! I’m sure it would be lovely with the more modern music but why change when the original is so wonderful….I have been watching Irish dancing last weekend….all stirring stuff!
I like what Phil says @phil_howcroft . The swirl of the kilts and the beat of the pipes. Can't imagine what music would be used other than the traditional!
That seems to be the trend everywhere. My granddaughter's dance recital also had a few traditional dances set to contemporary music. Some of it worked and some of it didn't. I really think both approaches should be brought together- and I've heard music that actually does that. This is such a fun shot- especially with the little bum taking a peek.
