Oregano Flowers by jamibann

Oregano Flowers

I'm delighted with my oregano crop this summer, and am drying the leaves for use throughout the year. It's the first time I've seen it flower - such delicate pale purple blooms. You can just make out the basil leaves in the background of this image, which gives a sense of the size of the oregano flowers.
You managed to get a wonderful clear shot of these teeny little flowers. Mine seems to have taken over my herb patch.

I dried a bunch of oregano this summer, but I lost the plant. Water is important.

A very useful plant to grow….oregano is one of the very few herbs I do use….would love to go on a course about using herbs in cooking. A very little known subject all round I think.

Lovely shot of the greenery. I love the details in the tiny blossoms. We do oregano, basil, thyme, parsley, and sage. I like them for greens in small bouquets or to use fresh. Hubby likes to dry them for use later. I think I’d rather be taking photos.
