This little potted sedum sits dormant most of the year, then suddenly the flowers emerge. It sits outside hubby's fishing shed and so I don't always notice it. Yesterday it caught my eye. The thick wooden pot came from dad's house many years ago, along with the sedum.
It's dad's 89th birthday today, and so I'm off to visit him, later. Last week the Care Home issued new guidelines that allowed relatives to visit without masks and without proof of having taken a negative covid test. This week, there's Covid in the home, and it's back to masks and 1m distancing. I'm not sure how Care Homes are ever going to get back to 'normal'. It saddens me enormously.
Lovely shot of these pretty blooms. Happy Birthday to your Dad, such a pity you cannot give him a proper hug. Hope they will soon be covid free again 🤗
Happy birthday to your dad….hope he enjoys his day very much. Covid is an ongoing worry in care homes….they seem to be battling the virus on & off…… sad as they can never relax! Lovely little sedum.
Beautiful capture of the sedum. Hope you were able to visit. Everytime a friend says they are traveling, I’m afraid they will return with Covid. So far that has been the case.
Lovely flowers- it's the most difficult on the most vulnerable- but it always has been, especially with viruses. I hope the facility will be able to find a "happy medium" where they can protect the residents and still allow the freedom of visiting. Best wishes to your dad!
