The Green Door by jamibann

The Green Door

On Saturday when out walking, I parked in a new car park beside Dinnet, to see what it was like and how you accessed Loch Kinord from there. It's been built to take overflow traffic from the Muir of Dinnet, which can get very busy. Because of my 'research', I walked through the village of Dinnet - something I never do; I only ever drive through on my way from A to B! Anyway ... I walked past this lovely traditional granite house, in a terrible state of disrepair. I wonder when it was last lived in? Funny how I'd never noticed it when driving by.

I found another relative last night. I follow the Shetland Wool Week on Facebook and noticed that one of the knitting experts was an Alison Rendall - my mother's maiden name. So, I messaged her on Facebook, and it turns out that our grandfathers were brothers. Small world. I'm glad I messaged her. :-)
Great framing on an interesting door.

Six degrees of separation - I know in NZ it's probably 4, I imagine Scotland is somewhat the same.

What a great find. I wonder if there's an old piano playing hot behind the green door. How exciting to find a lost relative

Always such a shame when buildings are left to decay. Nicely framed though ! How interesting on the relatives front too.

Lovely photo, it's quite surprising that it's so easy to miss landmarks until someone or something draws our attention to them.
How lovely to find a new cousin. Hope you can get together before too long.

That door is an invitation to make this place livable again! And how exciting to find a new relative. If I ever get to Scotland I hope to find some of mine.
