Today's word is "flag." Americans will recognize the title's words, but for any who don't, it is from the lyrics of our national anthem. After a night of battle in Maryland in the War of 1812 with England, the author, Francis Scott Key, wondered if when the sun rose, he would still be able to see the flag flying, which would indicate victory or defeat.
Beautifully done!

Thank you for commenting on my photo of the flag with the processed sun rays. I took the photo of this giant flag at night with a spotlight on it. I probably wouldn't have used it except that the word of the day was "flag."
