Work work work and rain rain rain keeping me from getting out and taking pics so I had to forage in the garden! I bought this cute sunflower suet feeder last year - and have yet to find suet in round cakes - so it is purely decorative.
Ooh but it's gorgeous! I love the similarly-toned background and the composition. I was thinking that a square cake would fit in there but obviously not, so I won't try to track one down for my mom (who collects sun-themed garden stuff)
You can make it yourself - just melt the suet, add seeds nuts and honey if you want. Then set it in the fridge in the circle that this has! Now we want he bird on this beautiful artwork!
@anwan - no - the square cake won't fit - I did try carving one down but that was messy and I wasn't going to keep it up. @maggiemae - true maggiemae - and we have honey from our bees. We shall see - I am going to have to get something in it so I can try and lure a bird onto it! :-)
Lovely photo and lovely suet feeder ! There's some great suet recipes out there. You could make it, put it in those plastic rounds and freeze it. I used to make my own, but then got lazy.
@ruthmouch@sansjuan Thanks RUth and Nita! @foxsparrow - ha that is me too, Ann - too much to do - my bird feed place is going to see if they can get it in rounds - if not I may give making some a try. You all have motivated me - and maybe birds in that garden bed will eat the rhododendron root weevils I am struggling with.
