Poor Iggy - he has to be combed every day because his hair is dense and long. He had climbed up onto the shed roof and rolled around - if you notice his tongue is sticking out - he does that when stalking something. In this case - me!
Oh, Iggy is gorgeous - so fluffy and I know its a chore to comb every day but it would be so necessary! I've seen some who have come into the SPCA absolutely choked with knots and dirt!
@mamamia - thanks Joanne! @maggiemae - thanks Maggiemae. We adopted him from 'kitty death row'. When he was first rescued he was terribly matted and had to be shaved. It's a bit tricky getting underneath because he swipes and will bite - but he is much better than he was. We have had him nearly 18 months now. He loves to be combed.
@redfl@swilde - thanks - yes the long hair is a pain. We live out in the country on acreage so he is allowed to go outside - he loves it. We brush him outside, too, when the weather permits - keeps the hair out of the house.
I love the feeling of softness in this shot, from all the detail of his long fur as well as the nice bokeh background. Iggy is a beautiful cat even when he tries to undo your combing work by rolling around on the roof! (one of my cats particularly likes to roll around in dust, I'm guessing it's an instinctual thing?)
