Wet Drive Home by jankoos

Wet Drive Home

Tonight after a long day, we went to get take and bake pizza. As a rule I don't eat junk food (and didn't need it after sitting on my duff in front of my computer for 11 hours) - and the nearest decent take and bake is only 17 miles each way. May 23rd and it was 48 degrees at 630pm and pouring rain. Last night we had some light snow. When we got home, my hubby made a fire in the wood stove to warm up the house.
I know the feeling Jan about the wet drive you have had it going home I have had it this Morning coming to work its going to be wet all Day today

You can buy and then bake your pizza? I love the light in this photo of you going home for it!

Typical for this time of year, usually the sun does not come out until mid June.

Welcome to Washington :-)

Oh, Jan, I smiled at the "only 17 miles away each way", love that you all think that is nothing and just do it. It is the same for my sister who lives in Arlington. I complain when it takes me more than 10 minutes to go to our take out pizza place and get back home! I love your big cities though and visit pretty often.

Love the processing here:)

@maggiemae - Thanks Maggiemae. It isn't the best pizza - but yes they have 'take and bake' - you can order one of their specials or tell them what toppings you want, then take it home and bake it. It's nice if you have teenagers or young people who are always hungry. I rarely eat meat, so my part is always veggie and my hubby gets a bunch of meat products on his side (pepperoni, salami, italian sausage and then some italian veggies). We don't do it often because we prefer to eat healthier food - but last night I had pizza and an IPA (india Pale Ale).

@gerry - thanks Gerry - sounds like we have the same weather.
@abhijit @swilde
@colie @mamamia @bristolrose - thanks all - sorry for the bulk replies.
@paul2782 - Thanks Paul and that is true - we used to start our garden in February or March and now we regularly get frost into June and the ground is too soggy to work.
@byrdlip - Thanks J A - yes 32 years in Washington now. :-)
@sansjuan - hah - thanks Nita! Yes - 17 miles is nothing. I go 30 each way to the farmers market on Saturdays, twice a week after work to PT for my back (about 26 miles each way) and the nearest decent grocery store is 20 miles from here. My nine year old truck has nearly 200,00 miles and I bought it new. It does get tedious sometimes.

I like this shot, Jan! You and I posted shots today that are a bit different than our usual! (at least, in my opinion!) I like the composition - the eye travels from the car up the open road. Great processing, too! Sorry it is so cold! It's worse somehow when it's spring and you're given winter weather.

@pflaume - Thanks Lisa - funny - I just commented on your latest picture and said pretty much the same thing. Different is good - have to shake things up a bit. When it's so wet, I don't like being outside with my camera. I am so ready for sunshine!

Our weather has finally brightened up a bit here, hope yours has too Jan. I really like this shot and your processing.

That is a long way to go for pizza! I love in a suburb of Atlanta Ga...pizza in every street corner!
