Quick capture while I was walking in the garden yesterday while I was on my lunch break. Luckily I had camera in hand - he landed briefly right in front of me and then was gone. I think it's a 12 spotted skinner - it was pretty large.
Taken with my 55-250mm kit lens and no tripod - and literally had a couple of seconds - luckily I had just snapped a pic of a rose and my hubby alerted me to this guy. Have I mentioned recently I need to get a macro lens? LOL! New toys have to wait until after my son's wedding next month. :-)
@ratanova@paulaw@mamamia - thank you - I had just taken a pic of a rose - I just used my kit lens - the 55-250 on my canon - then cropped. No tripod - not as clear as I would like but given that I had a couple of seconds I was pleased it came out at all. I actually managed to get five quick shots before he took off.
I think this is excellent, Jan. I also used my 55-250 for my "macros" until i got my Canon 100 mm 2.8 USM lens a month ago. it is nice, but that 55-250 method is nice and you can turn around and zoom in and get that bird or chipmunk shot ...when I have my macro on....it is weird not to be able to do that.
