This was on Kautz Creek trail in Mt Rainier National Park. The trail leads to Indian Henry's Hunting Grounds - an 11 mile hike with a 3100 ft elevation gain - I am not yet fit enough for that - but we went about two miles each way. Would have gone further but the black flies were thick and aggressive. Hard to convey how huge these trees are. The bottom one came to my waist and I am 5'9" - the one that was cut was over 5ft across. It's a shame that so many have fallen.
Gorgeous lush rich woodland tones! Fav! I know all living things are beautiful in their own way but black flies are sooooooooo annoying and their bite hurts!
