This very large whirlygig is outside the library in Puyallup, Wash. The outer wheels are comparable to those found on a bicycle in size. It was windy today so it was spinning nicely. I love how cheery it is.
@macromover - Hi Jan - a whirlygig is what we in the UK call the little kids windmills you can hold or stick in the ground. A nice breeze makes them spin. This particular one is decorative - it's quite tall - maybe 15ft or more and is at the edge of a park. Like an oversized kids windmill.
@eyesmile@nanalisarocks@andrina@gerry - thanks friends for the nice comments and favs on my whirlygig. It was a fun time spent watching it and trying to get a non blurry shot.
Thanks for explaining Jan. This is some whirlygig then and love the fact it is made from bycicle wheels. Leaving the cogs in the centre wheel adds to it. Great stuff.
