Mandrogi is a village on the bank of the river Svir.
During the second World War the village was occupied by the Germans. The inhabitants were interned and never returned, and the place became desolate. In recent years an enterprising group of artisans reconstructed the village in the old Russian style to illustrate the traditions and lifestyle of Russia's past. The artisans and craftsmen live and work there permanently and have become a great tourist attraction.
This hurdy gurdy man was creating a magical sound singing a traditional song to his music.
Would love to have heard him.
