This mural, in the main street of Rossland, was painted for a feature film called Miracle on Ice in 2003. It is a story about the USA men's hockey team defeating the USSR team during the 1980 Olympics. Red Mountain can be seen in the background.
@kiwichick I'm not sure how much of the movie was filmed in Rossland Lesley but some of it certainly was. I was told that a bunch of locals were used as extras in the movie. I've never actually seen it but I'd love to find someone with a copy.
