I can just hear it crackling away... oh such fun memories! Nowadays my hubby and I do camping in state parks in camper cabins. Getting a little spoiled with a roof, beds, and a table in our old age.
@sewsharyn thanks a lot Sharyn...I gotta admit though I am not really that fond of marshmallows....mostly the fire helps keep the mosquitoes and black flies away.
Did you use a fast shutter speed or a slow one? It looks like a fast one to me but there must have been some light in the sky or the background would have been all dark. I never tried to capture fire and was wondering what tricks I should know.
@photonut Hi Vicki..... I used a wide aperture f5.6, a little higher ISO 320 and a fast shutter speed. It wasn't as dark as the picture shows so there was enough light to make the shot. A fast shutter speed allows you to get the detail in the fire instead of an orange blur. In low light conditions I always use the largest aperture (i.e. smallest f stop number) that the lens allows. thanks for viewing this shot.
