Took a walk this morning – absolutely stunning day (75° and clear) – I couldn’t take enough pictures as the colors were brilliant. This one seemed to be happy to be up this morning.
(edit -- after some intensive googling, it appears that this is a mockingbird and not a mourning dove -- thanks @mej2011 sorry)

Back again after looking at your project Jay. You mention you don't have a lot of daylight hours to shoot so I thought maybe some smoke photography? If you search the tag "smoke" you will see lots of great examples.
Love mockingbirds - really nice shot of this one. The coloring and smoothness are similar to the dove but the pattern on those wings kind of gives him away.
Fantastic shot, Jay! Such clarity! I love the mockingbirds, and this one looks especially striking with the pretty light in front and gorgeous blue sky behind.
