Our yard is rife with wildlife including a squirrel condo that has been diligently carved out of our hillside housing at least two babies that are now venturing out on the the lawn to eat the carrotwood nuts and other goodies that are bounty from our wet winter. They run play and have the benefit of bushes and trees as their byways. Occasionally their brave the street out in from of my house but they usually have plenty of time and warning for oncoming traffic.
Life is much more precarious for the urban squirrel as I was in the city and noted this one trying to traverse the busy intersection of at Rowena and Hyperion in Silver Lake -- impossible on the busy street with cars racing by so this fellow found an alternative route proving telephone wires can carry much more than conversation
