My father was a photographer and took inumerable pictures and films -- many 16mm movies from the 40's and 50's of our family when we were little and captured irreplaceable memories of my grandparents and places we lived. Of course, this was in the day before the instant gratification of digital media and the ability to have a "do over" -- the photographer had to get the shot right the first time and film was not cheap. Now that they are 60-70 years old they are still in pretty good shapes and the colors and quality are amazing but they need to be preserved.
This is a shot of the 1931 Bell and Howell FilmoMaster projector I use to watch these -- here rewinding a reel just viewed. It is in fine working order and a true testament to craftsmanship and artistry of an era only accessible through the films it shows.

Looking to return in 2023
After a three year hiatus (and three previous years on project without a miss) I am...
Wow! Such memories of a past era. This could have been my uncle's. He had so many 16mm films he did. His son gave them all to us. We had them put on video tape. That was several years ago They were also of us kids when we were small. He had one 16mm tape of my parents wedding and he added my own wedding years later. I have that now......
I love the motion showing it running right now. I remember seeing a projector similar to this at my uncle's (think I inherited the photo bug gene from him). All early pictures of me were ones he took. Nicely captured and thanks for the memory.
