Meta Photo

My father was a photographer and took this shot in Carmel CA I am guessing sometime in the 1940's. This is one of the many cypress trees that grew near the beach and cliffs and stood up to the wild winds that blow there. His son is carrying on the tradition and I would love (post COVID) to try and find this tree if it is still there and take this shot. But the photo of the photo will have to suffice.
Love these trees, try Pebble Beach golf course or 17 mile drive.

So neat that you are carrying on the tradition. This is a wonderful photo he has taken.

Your father was apparently an accomplished photographer as is his son! It would be really exciting to be able to find this exact tree and take another photo so you could compare the two! In the meantime this photo of the photo will do!

I like that you have picked up on photography after your father. I have a shot of a beach in Nova Scotia that my father took and I've always thought it would be fun to try and find it if I was ever able to return there. I didn't have enough time to look for it when I was there before. Nice "frame within a frame" shot!
