Lápida judía en el barrio del call / Gravestone in the Jewish neighborhood of call

... Found in 1820. Xavier Miserachs, Catalan photographer, which I decided to incorporate the current "artist challenge", took a photo of this tombstone in the 60s as part of his collection of photographs of "Barcelona in black and white."

Due to repeated vandalism and graffiti, along the years, the original gravestone is preserved in the museum of history of the city of Barcelona (MUHBA) and what we see is a replica. The bottom plate was added a posteriori with a more accurate translation.
It's a beautiful B&W photo...a great photo to represent his style.

I am really enjoying your photos and summaries in anticipation for a visit to Barcelona this September.

@phillyphotos i'm pleased about you like my photos. I'm sure you'll enjoy taking your own photos of this beautiful city. September is a month with warm temperatures, perhaps some thunderstorm, with enough hours of light to explore the city. One recommendation: don't wear shorts and sandals with socks ... ;)
