In my neighborhood, houses of all sizes are being torn down and replaced by mansions. We've lived through major renovations on both sides of us and two new houses filled in across the street. Right now we can see two houses that were torn down and are being rebuilt to take up much more of the lot and rise higher than the ones that were torn down. Both of the previous houses were brick and fairly large but the new ones will be huge. The one behind us will be LEED-certified and has two basements, one will be a sound studio. The one in front of us (where I took this photo) seems huge and it seems strange that they still haven't taken down the orange fence with peeling paint that was once bright pink.
I walked around the block at dusk looking for something to shoot from a low point of view. This was the first thing that I found. I'll have to start earlier next time or bring a tripod because the light was fading fast.
I love to get down and dirty! I like to see how things look to a child or a dog or even an ant... This shot might have been boring from a standing perspective. Instead, the ground itself draws you in, draws your attention to the building materials, teasing your mind a little. It will be interesting to watch you play with the depth of field when you employ this strategy...
