Backlit Clematis by jbritt

Backlit Clematis

Not much time to take photos today, so I stuck to my back yard. The clematis plants are blooming on the fence behind my garage. I caught this in low the afternoon light, probably around the same light as the backlit tulip a few weeks ago.

I wanted to take some photos of my husband while he was repairing our van, but he scowled at the camera so I photographed flowers instead.

I was REALLY indecisive tonight. I posted one and then changed my mind. I took down the first one and replaced it with this instead. The portrait shape works better than landscape on 365 and this is a bit more mysterious, but I do like the first one too. I'll post the other one on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/17971166@N03/5691904789/in/set-72157626657684186/

And one other that was under consideration:

The back lighting is cool, but I really like the curly-Q and other stems around and in front of the flower. (C. Smith)

Beautiful color and transparency of color. I liked them all!

I love the lighting and the depth. I grow so many flowers but can't do a thing with Clematis! So jealous! Well done!
