Rolling Thunderers at Highlander Motor Inn

I wanted to photograph something to do with Rolling Thunder today. Yesterday I saw a camp on church grounds across Rt 50 from my own church. I thought about biking there but decided to start by photographing motorcycles on Rt 66 from one of the bridges. The chain link fence made focusing difficult but I decided the pedestrian bridge worked better than any of the bridges for cars. That way I didn't have to worry about cars when changing directions, plus the sight line was a better.

After I tried all of the bridges, I was biking back home when I spotted a large group of motorcycles and motorcyclists at the Highlander Motor Inn. Of course, I stopped to take photos.

I ended up using my very first one, but it took awhile to decide between this people shot and one that emphasized the motorcycles. I like the interaction between the two women in this one and their tattoos. I also like that they seem solemn even though there was a party going on below them. After all, the purpose of Rolling Thunder is to remember.

Here's the shot emphasizing the motorcycles:

And here's another one of the same group of people:

And a few other interesting shots of the same subject:
