My nephew's daughter had her first birthday party today. Quite a celebration. She was adorable in her birthday princess hat. The backlighting was a challenge, but I picked this shot because it shows both of her parents helping her blow out the candle.
What a beautiful little girl! How did you ever get such a great photo with all that glass in the back??? I wonder how this would look blown up to a 5x7 and framed out as a gift? I think it would be lovely.
Very cute. Great exposure. How did you deal with the backlight? It almost looks like you used a reflector for the foreground. Just curious about what settings you used. (N)
@smithfamily I didn't have much time since I was downstairs when they brought out the cake. I just read metered the light off Lilly''s face and did a little post processing in Lightroom to fix it as best I could. The lighting was much better in some of the later shots with just Lilly but I liked having her parents in this one. It just seemed like the magic moment even if the exposure wasn't as good as the others.
