My assignment was to photograph things that are ordinary, underprivileged, and/or imperfect. I took my camera when I walked to the post office this afternoon and took a detour to the old part of Clarendon on the way home. This door is certainly underprivileged and imperfect, but I thought it looked perfect with the reflection of the new building.
I can only submit 5 photos for the assignment and have 6-8 from today's shoot that would be acceptable so I can concentrate on my slide show and still have something for next week's class. Whew!
I'm planning to give myself three more days to work on the slide show. Then I have to concentrate on preparing for the dinner the night before the wedding. I'm expecting approximately 80 guests and buying food from Costco instead of having it catered. I will have a lot of help on Friday, but expect to be be busier than usual next week.
Looking at old photos really makes me feel more sentimental about my first born getting married. I'm sure next Saturday will be a very special day for all of us.
@smithfamily Thank you. Yes, the buildings in the reflection are much newer than the door in the photo. I often refer to this as Old Clarendon in contrast to New Clarendon. This "urban village" has changed quite a bit since I moved here in 1980. this building was probably old then and new structures have risen all around it.
