Belle Haven Bird-Watchers by jbritt

Belle Haven Bird-Watchers

I was alone most of the time while doing Tai Chi on the Belle Haven dock early Sunday morning. A few cars came and went, two women unloaded windsurfers, and three people walked one dog, but nobody stayed long. Then I heard voices and saw a few bird-watchers carrying tripods. I continued my Tai Chi with my back to the shore. A few minutes later I turned around and saw masses of people with tripods and lenses pointed straight at me. I was between them and birds on a floating platform. It was the birds they were watching, but it felt like I was being pursued by paparazzi. I wonder if any of them photographed my shocked expression. I could tell that some recognized it. I finished my Tai Chi but lost the serenity after seeing this audience. They had turned their attention elsewhere by the time I got my camera out, but this was my best attempt to capture the moment.
