Incomplete Pass

I look forward to the one and only daylight football game our team plays each season, even if it is a two hour drive each way. The opportunities for images is so much better than trying to shoot in a barely lit high school stadium at night.

I almost did not get this image. Not because of the camera, or because of issues with my being ready. Instead it is because in high school sports a lot of coaches, assistants and whoever else is standing on the sidelines think that those restricted areas don't matter. So as the ball went up and the players jumped I started to shoot. That is when somebody on the sidelines (inside the team area -so it may have been a coach or a trainer) came out of their proper zone and not only into the white restricted area but all the way on to the field to see the end of the play. The very edge of the left side is cropped right at the edge of the person's shoulders. The next frame is nothing but the person's back and a bit of sky over their shoulder.
great sports capture!!!
