Went to a fascinating lecture tonight by William Day who has had a stellar career, which has included being chairman of BBC's ‘Children In Need’, CEO of Care International and general advisor to the United Nations Development Programme. His main take away from this experience is that the solution to much of the poverty he was helping to respond to was not more charity, but fairer prosperity. This was as true in the UK as it was in Ethiopia or the Sudan.
