Capitol columns by jernst1779

Capitol columns

These columns were originally part of the Capitol Building in Washington DC. They were removed when the East Portico was rebuilt in the 1950's. Eventually a benefactor arranged for them to be relocated to a large field in the National Arboretum.
I found it hard to compose a compelling image of them. Also, when with family members, it's not always possible to take your time composing shots.
I like it. Think you composed it just right. Thanks for the explanation as well.

A well designed sympathetic roof would look good on these columns.
