A gorilla male is successful in searching for food.
In zoo Schmiding there is a near-natural habitat for gorillas. In this extensive grounds the only gorillas in Austria are housed. There are waterfalls, much natural vegetation and a climbing rock.
In zoos gorillas are to be saved from their complete eradication. In their African homeland security measures are currently impossible due to civil war and the disastrous social conditions.
The population of zoo gorillas is successfully increased by offspring. If protective measures in their African habitats will be possible, gorillas can be settled there again.
I'm always amazed watching great apes, and observing their skills so like ours or vice versa. You captured that moment so well. And the details are amazing.
Another wonderful, recognizable-as-Jerome's shot. I have so enjoyed your postings, and I want to thank you for taking so much of your time to comment on some of my recent postings. It means a lot, and is very appreciated. BTW, just for the record, my name is Phoebe; "aikimomm" is in reference to my daughter, a black belt in Aikido and an awesome photographer, who is also on 365 and goes by "aikiuser."
@aikimomm
Thank you for your nice comment, dear Phoebe :).
Thanks for your note and your statement on "aikimomm". Now I can handle it better. I did not know these relationships.
I would like to spend more time on the mutual exchange in writing. I think that this is an essential part of the encounters in this forum. Unfortunately, the tasks of the profession and everyday occupy me very much. I wish I had more time for photography and deepening meetings in writing.
I think there are many things to say - in connection with photography. Ultimately photography is also a talk with dark and light, colors and shapes. We interpret the world with it. We put into it a meaning, a certain sense. We express ourselves.
I am looking forward to further meetings with you - with pictures and words. :)
@joansmor
Yes, a cage is a cage. But it is important to make the most of the current situation. I think in zoo Schmiding correct efforts be made - in the sense of the animals - and from the responsibility for those who come after us.
@jerome Thank you for your nice response, Jerome. I too look forward to continuing our "conversations" as well as the sharing of photos. And learning more about you.
Superb shot, you have such a eye. Your detail is amazing! My heart always ache when I know animals suffer - particularly in the wild where they belong...
So many nice comments! Many thanks for this beautiful resonance!
