The old clay architecture has unfortunately become rare in Oman today. The mighty fort in Nizwa is very well preserved. It is a prime example of Omani fortress architecture.
The oasis city Nizwa is the center of the Omani heartland.

The fort of Nizwa is very well preserved. I have been told that the restoration work of old clay buildings in Oman is led by Moroccan architects.
